Emergency services were called to a two-car crash in which a woman had to be cut free.
The A37 between Dorchester and Yeovil was closed both ways following the collision which happened at around 8.30am this morning.
Police, fire and ambulance services were all in attendance.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said firefighters used hydraulic equipment to cut a woman free from a vehicle. She was taken into the care of the ambulance service.
Another casualty was already out of their vehicle before the fire service arrived.
The crash happened between Barwick and Closworth in Somerset.
The road has now reopened.
