ONE minute he’s thrilling people with the area’s biggest fireworks display, the next he’s planning his a spine-chilling Spooktacular for Halloween.

Bournemouth-based events manager Michael Callaghan is planning a Halloween fireworks Spooktacular at Chapel Gate on Saturday, October 27.

Then the following week, November 3, he’ll be at Littledown pulling out all the stops for Bournemouth Fireworks, the area’s biggest fireworks party.

“I love this time of year, summer’s over but everyone still wants to have a good time and it’s my job to help them do just that,” he says.

“And what better way to have fun with all the family than with a creepy chill-fest one weekend followed by a thrill-a-minute fireworks special the next?

Months of planning go into these events and there’s always loads to do on the night, but I still manage to make time to enjoy them as well.”

The first Chapel Gate Halloween Spooktacular was a roaring success last year and this year’s bash will be just as ghoulishly good.

The spectacular Spooky Woodland Walk is even creepier and Chapel Gate regulars are already planning their fancy dress outfits for the petrifying parade.

Other attractions include funfair rides, a barbecue and hog roast, have-a-go sports and a top fireworks display set to music by industry leaders Pains.

Gates open at 5pm with fireworks from 8pm.

Bournemouth Fireworks at the Littledown Centre is the only fireworks event on the south coast with three top quality displays, including the famous White Knuckle – the region’s loudest and latest fireworks show.

A highlight of the season since 1996, as well as the legendary fireworks displays thousands of revellers also enjoy the free entry indoor Family Fun Zone, as well as a giant late-night funfair, a licensed bar and other refreshments.

Outside, the Littledown Centre pitches will play host to have-a-go sports sessions with local football, rugby, cricket, tennis and netball coaches where they will be providing free lessons. Gates open at 5.30pm, with fireworks displays at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm.
