The A35 was partially blocked at the Bere Regis Roundabout following a two-vehicle crash.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said they were called at 3.24pm to reports of a road traffic collision on the roundabout of the A35 with A31 in Bere Regis.
The spokesman added: "There is oil on the road and we have informed the local authority.
"It's a non injury collision, but the road is partially blocked because the oil needs to be cleaned up."
One lane was open and traffic was moving but motorists were urged to find alternative routes if possible.
The vehicles involved in the crash were a green Volkswagen registered to a woman from Blandford, and a grey Mazda registered to a woman from Dorchester.
The road is now clear.
