An elderly woman suffered a serious leg injury after falling at the beach.
The woman had to be airlifted to Dorchester Rugby Club after becoming injured at Charmouth Beach yesterday (Sunday, October 21).
The woman, aged 77, had reportedly fallen and sustained a very serious leg injury.
Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 187 from St Athan (South Wales) was tasked with transferring the casualty to a landing site at Dorchester Rugby Club, where an ambulance was waiting.
Wyke Coastguard Rescue Team were called at 3.29pm to help prepare the landing site.
A spokesman for Wyke Coastguard said: “When the casualty was safely in the hands of the South Western Ambulance Service, Rescue 187 departed Dorchester Rugby Club, and the initial response team were allowed to return to base.”
