A YOUNG man was found dead after an incident at a country park yesterday.

Police, paramedics and coastguard officials were called to a cliff near Durlston Head, Durlston Country Park, Swanage at around 12noon.

Swanage and St Albans Coastguard Rescue Teams, Swanage RNLI lifeboats and the HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Lee-on-Solent were called to the scene.

The coastguard received a report of an injured person at the base of a cliff west of Anvil Point Lighthouse.

The alarm was raised by people climbing in the area.

The body of a 21-year-old man was found shortly before 12.20pm.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

"His next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified."

A spokesperson from the ambulance service said an ambulance, two operations officers and a rapid response vehicle were sent to Peveril Point Road in connection with the incident.
