It seems so obvious to many of us living in and around Weymouth and Portland that is it common sense to back the Western Route from Weymouth to Portland?
Do some councillors have problems thinking logically and also forward planning?
With the increase in the number of cruise ships visiting Portland every year, the new Eden Project attraction being planned and the increase in business at Portland Port, you would have to be a dinosaur not to see the benefits this would bring to the whole area.
On the question of the promenade fairy lights, the postcard shown in the Echo on October 9 brought back happy memories.
Please councillors don’t even think about giving us stupid excuses quoting posts not being strong enough to support them and then spend a large amount of money on a company doesn’t seem to be thinking about the lights we want.
Using new LED lights (even half the number of the original bulbs) the long-term savings are obvious.
Over the last few years I have become ever more astonished at some of the silly and embarrassing decisions being made by these councillors. What do we have to do to inject some common sense in to the council? Suggestions please.
