Wareham
Wareham Wednesdays and Swanage and Wareham Rugby Club’s Monster Bonfire and Fireworks event takes place on Friday, November 2. Gates open at 6pm and there is free parking on site at the Rugby Club on Bestwell Road, Wareham. Tickets cost £5 for adults, £3 for young adults and entry is free for children under 10 years old.
Events on Saturday, November 3
Dorchester
Dorchester Rugby Club’s spectacular fireworks night will take place on Saturday, November 3. Organisers promise a great fireworks display, hog roast, barbecue, bar and amusements. Gates open at 6pm and fireworks begin at 8pm. It takes place at the rugby club on Coburg Road. Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for children, family tickets available for £10.
Taking place on Saturday, November 3, crowds of people are expected to attend. There will be fireworks on the Cobb from 6.30pm, followed by a bonfire on the beach.
The Big Bang Bonanza, organised by Bridport Round Table at Bridport Leisure Centre, takes place on Saturday, November 3. Gates open at 7pm and the firework display starts from 8pm. Tickets cost £4 and entry is free to children aged under 12.
Sherborne
Taking place at Sherborne Castle on Saturday, November 3, organisers are promising a Fireworks Extravaganza. Gates open at 5pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the firework display begins at 7.30pm. Tickets are available in advance or on the gate.
Events on Monday, November 5
Weymouth
One of Dorset’s most well-attended events, Weymouth’s annual Bonfire Night celebration takes place on (when else?), Monday, November 5. The fairground on the Pavilion forecourt opens from 3pm and the judging of the Guy Fawkes competition takes place in Weymouth Pavilion foyer at 6pm. The beach bonfire will be lit at 7.40pm and the fireworks take place from 8pm.
Leweston, Sherborne
A family event open to all is promised at Leweston School on Monday, November 5. Gates open at 6pm and the fireworks begin at 7pm. There will also be a bonfire and a hog roast and refreshments will be available. Tickets cost £6 for adults and £4 for children.
Organisers of the Billy Winters display at Ferrybridge and Southill Fireworks have confirmed that their events will not be going ahead this year.
