Residents gathered on Weymouth beach wearing red clothes to form the giant poppy
HAVE to say, I almost forgot about going to the poppy gathering on the beach on Thursday
Anyway, I rushed down there out of respect.
I almost wish I had not have bothered.
It was a fiasco!
People turned up to wait for instructions (wave if you can hear us) as we were told to form a circle round black plastic bin bags.
The mayor appeared for a quick photo and we all went our own way.
It should have been such a great thing to do.
Not a two-minute damp squib that it turned out to be.
