Having read numerous letters on the Have Your Say page, the latest round of subjects regarding UK immigration policy reflects certain individuals' approach to the current government's controls.

Since our entry into the EU in 1973-74 many additions of state policy have been implemented.

What priorities should have been discussed were those of whether we should place immigrants from our former overseas members of the Empire now the Commonwealth at the front of the queue.

I suspect that this would have drawn disdain from those members of the European Communities.

Probably accusing us of a form of nepotism bordering on retro-imperialism.

Needless to say it is too late now to change our present system.
