AN INTRUDER broke into a house in Weymouth while a young woman was inside.

Police said a woman aged in her late teens was at her home off Brunel Drive, Preston, when a man rang the doorbell a number of times.

When the victim did not answer, he forced entry to a door but left the property without taking anything.

The offender is described as white, aged in his late teens or early twenties, approximately five feet five inches tall and of medium build with short brown hair. He was wearing a black jumper and blue jeans.

The burglary happened about 1.50pm on Friday, November 2.

PC Anneka Harding, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the man described in the area at the relevant time to get in touch.

“I have been carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident so far to try and locate the offender, including CCTV and house-to-house enquiries.

“If you have any information that could assist me in my investigation, please contact police.”
