A Royal Navy engineer has been recognised for 35 years of service.

Warrant Officer Engineering Technician (Weapon Engineer) Mark Stevenson, 52, from Weymouth, was recently awarded the 2nd bar to his Long Service and Good Conduct (LSGC) Medal.

He is pictured receiving his clasp from Commander Andy Donaldson.

Mark joined the Royal Navy in July 1983 and during his long and varied career he has served on many naval warships including HMS Berwick, Broadsword, Peterel, Wilton, Marlborough, Sutherland, Ramsey, Campbeltown, Daring and Protector. He cites his operational tour of Afghanistan as a highlight of his career, together with visiting such places as Singapore, Antarctica, Australia and Japan.
