A man has come forward following a police appeal after an elderly woman had her purse stolen.
As reported, between 12.45pm and 1.30pm on Thursday, October 18, a woman aged in her 80s reported that her purse had been stolen while shopping in Dorchester town centre.
Her bank card was allegedly used for a transaction at the Co-op store in Trinity Street.
Following a public appeal, a 22-year-old man from Oxfordshire has contacted police.
Dorset Police said he is assisting officers with their investigation and is not being treated as a suspect.
No arrests have been made.
