A Met Office weather warning over heavy rain and strong winds remains in place for much of the day tomorrow (8).

A yellow 'be aware' warning has been issued for 1pm until just before midnight (8), and covers the whole of the south west including Dorset.

A Met Office forecaster says a band of heavy rain is expected to move east during the afternoon with 15-25mm of rain falling widely and possibly 50mm over higher ground.

It will be in addition to other spells of heavy rain which hit the county earlier in the week.

Rain will be accompanied by strong winds with gusts of 50 mph possible inland and even 60 mph around some coasts.

People are warned that homes and businesses could flood and there could be short term loss of power.

Spray and flooding on roads will make journey times longer and public transport could see delays.
