Howleys Toymaster is backing the Dorset Echo Toy Appeal – as residents are reminded donation bins are now in stores.

The Toy Appeal aims to collect enough toys, gifts and donations to make sure every child in Dorset has a present to open on Christmas morning.

Howleys Toymaster has been a loyal supporter of the appeal since it was first established 19 years ago. Donation bins are available in every branch.

Tracy Oldham, sales advisor at Howleys preschool shop in Weymouth said: "It's truly wonderful that for almost twenty years our preschool shop has helped provide toys to so many babies and young children.

"We understand it can be a difficult time of year for so many people, and I know it will mean a lot to parents to be able to give their little ones a special Christmas and see the smiles on their faces when they wake up to find Santa's been.

"It certainly means a lot to us - being able to spread a little bit of Christmas magic and give the gift of happiness is what it's all about.

"We'd like to encourage as many people as possible to donate to one of our bins and help us spread the joy as far as possible.

"As well as the toy bins we also have collection boxes throughout all Howleys Toymaster stores."

Dorset Echo promotions manager Debbie Hellaby said: “Each year we see an increasing number of applications made to the appeal for toys, so it's more important than ever for local families to receive this support during the festive period.

"Without the generosity of our readers and local businesses we would not be able to help put smiles on all those families’ faces at Christmas, so a big ‘thank you’ in advance for your help.”

Readers are reminded we are unable to accept second-hand, used or soft toys.
