Around 30 firefighters tackled a heath fire near Wareham.
Fire crews were called to the blaze off Soldiers Road just before 12.45pm today.
3 hectares of heathland was destroyed in the fire.
Five fire engines and four Land Rover pumps from Swanage, Wimborne, Poole, Hamworthy and Christchurch attended the incident, along with a water carrier.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said the flames spread quickly due to strong winds.
They added that the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The fire has been extinguished but crews are still at the scene dampening down the area.
Working with multiple crews on a #wildfire near Wareham. Great job by all involved to keep it to 3.3ha. Initial actions by @DWFRSSwanageStn and @NaturalEngland tractor and mower made a terrific impact. #staysafe #LACES pic.twitter.com/i00OZhOe8b
