A closed doors briefing is being held for councillors about proposals for a new Weymouth town centre traffic scheme – including further pedestrianisation.
Borough councillors are holding the private meeting this Friday to hear the latest proposals.
Funding was agreed at the June management committee for what was described as the first phase of pedestrianisation.
A report to Monday’s management committee says that work on proposals for St Mary Street / St Thomas Street has been completed with the second phase pedestrianisation project being worked on with officers from Dorset County Council.
Cllr Ray Nowak told the committee that more details would be outlined to councillors at a working group briefing and said that some of the next phase could be progressed and tested by using an initial six-moth experimental traffic order.
