Police have launched a CCTV appeal after a woman was hit by a shopping basket at a supermarket in Blandford.

The incident happened in the Morrisons store on West Street at 5.15pm on Wednesday October 3. A local woman aged in her 30s was hit on the arm with a metal shopping basket during an altercation with an unknown man in the Morrisons store on West Street.

He then left the store and rode away on a burgundy or black moped. The victim was not physically injured but was left upset.

Police Community Support Investigator Luke Goddard, of Blandford Police, said: “As part of my investigation into this incident I am in a position to issue a CCTV image of a man I would like to speak to. I would ask anyone who recognises this man to please contact Dorset Police.

“Finally, if the man pictured sees this appeal, I would ask him to please make contact as he may have important information that could assist my investigation.”
