Wyke Christmas Street Fayre will take place on Sunday.

The event, now in its tenth year will provide fun and entertainment from noon to 4.30pm.

The streets around Old Wyke Square will be closed so it is a nice, safe environment for families to wander around.

This year promises to be bigger and better than ever.

All the usual favourites but with some extra new attractions, too.

A spokesman for the organisers said: "Father Christmas is booked and will be in his Grotto in Wyke Regis Social Club to listen to the dreams of the local children.

Lots of entertainment will be on offer, including Wyke Regis Infant School Choir, Weymouth Operatic Society and the Sophie Barnes Singers.

"Our popular fancy dress competition will be judged by Santa and some visiting fantasy princesses at 3.30pm

"We are pleased that this year the local history exhibition will be returned to it's familiar location in the small Memorial Hall and we are looking forward to hearing those strolls down memory lane from our older residents.

"Wyke Christmas Street Fayre is a community led event, organised by local people for local people.

It is enormous fun with an opportunity to meet up with old friends. All funds raised are donated to local groups and organisations."
