Crime prevention scammers
Dorset Police has received reports of fraudsters acting as crime prevention advisers.
The scammers are believed to have made a series of appointments on behalf of the force.
Police are advising residents, these are not legitimate and residents should not allow them entry to their home.
Anyone with concerns can verify the identity of a police officer or staff member by asking for their collar number and checking details by calling 101.

Festive security
Police are urging residents to think about security while they enjoy the festive season.
People are advised to think twice about leaving presents in view of windows where they could tempt burglars and keep your home secure, even if you are just popping to wish the neighbours a merry Christmas.
