Due to a signalling problem, there may be major disruption to trains at Weymouth Station.
Travel Dorset reported: "Due to a signalling problem between Bournemouth and Weymouth, all lines are blocked.
"All trains between Southampton Central and Weymouth will terminate and start at Bournemouth."
Network Rail said: "Due to a points problem between Poole and Weymouth all lines are blocked.
"Train services running to and from these stations may be delayed or changed. Disruption is expected until 21:00."
South Western Railway have said: "Due to the signalling fault between Bournemouth and Weymouth you can use you ticket, at no extra cost, on First Buses X54/X55 between Weymouth and Poole, and First Buses 10 between Weymouth and Dorchester."
Travel Dorset have confirmed that this is not related to Weymouth Station being evacuated after a suspicious package was found.
