Fewer trains were running from Weymouth station this morning due to a signal failure.
Many South Western Railway (SWR) services between Weymouth and Waterloo started or ended at Bournemouth, with just one train per hour (in either direction) running between the two stations.
Five services heading to or from Weymouth this morning were cancelled altogether.
The disruption followed a fault which caused all signals to fail between Poole and Wool yesterday.
Network Rail engineers have fixed the fault and all lines have now reopened.
Passengers are being advised to check their journey as services running to and from Bournemouth and Weymouth may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until around 4pm today.
Replacement bus services are in operation between Bournemouth and Weymouth and tickets are being accepted on local buses and Great Western Railway services.
