WELDMAR Hospicecare is holding services of remembrance for those wishing to remember loved ones this winter.
The charity says its Snowdrop Services of Remembrance are held when snowdrops first appear, "as a reminder that the hope and warmth of spring are not far away".
Venues in Dorset include Joseph Weld Hospice, Dorchester on Monday February 4 at 2pm; Bridport's United Reformed Church on Thursday February 7 at 11am; St Mary’s Church in Beaminster, Tuesday February 5 at 11am, and Lyme Regis' St Michael the Archangel on Wednesday February 6 at 2.30pm.
Weldmar Hospicecare is planting snowdrops in its gardens in memory of those who have passed away, in return for a £10 donation. Names are also recorded in a memorial book, and a commemorative card will acknowledge all donations made.
A spokesman for the charity said: "Weldmar Hospicecare’s Snowdrop Gardens and Walks offer residents the chance to provide a lasting memorial to those who were near and dear to us.
"Your loved one may have died a long time ago, in a different area or they may not have had a serious illness. This does not matter to us, we understand the importance of grieving process and we want to be able to help you through that stage."
