A MAN has been jailed after admitting his part in a spate of burglaries.

Dima-Adrian Angheluta, aged 34 and of Porchester Place in Bournemouth, was sentenced to 20 months in prison at Bournemouth Crown Court last Tuesday after admitting six charges of burglary.

The first four charges relate to incidents which occurred in Bournemouth and Poole during October, while the final two charges relate to burglaries in the Purbeck area.

Between 9.30am and 12pm on Tuesday, October 23 a burglary occurred in Miles Avenue in Sandford near Wareham. The offender forced open a kitchen window and stole jewellery.

Another similar burglary occurred the same day in Filluel Road in Sandford. Again a kitchen window was forced open and jewellery and watches were stolen.

CCTV was installed at this address and showed a man going down the side of the house at 10.40am and reappearing at around 11am before heading in the direction of Miles Avenue.

Detective Sergeant Adam Woolman, of Dorset Police’s Priority Crime Team, said: “Even if Angheluta did just act as a driver for an accomplice, he was nevertheless a willing participant who helped to facilitate a series of burglaries targeting homes across Bournemouth, Poole and Purbeck.

“Through our investigations we were able to identify Angheluta as being involved in these offences and recovered a large amount of the items that were stolen.

“I would like to take this opportunity to remind home owners to make sure they have appropriate security measures in place to ensure they are not vulnerable to burglars who target residential properties.
