WESSEX Water says it’s disappointing to see reports of staff being verbally abused, after a traffic light failure this morning.
Temporary traffic lights are currently in place on the A354 in Fotuneswell, Portland, while Wessex Water carries out works installing a new connection.
However, after a traffic light failure occurred earlier this morning, Wessex Water staff were verbally abused by frustrated motorists.
A spokesman for Wessex Water said: “We’re sorry to hear about delays on the A354, where we are carrying out planned work to install a new connection.
“There was a fault with the temporary lights this morning which has now been resolved by the contractor, hopefully easing traffic flows.
“Our workforce are working as quickly as possible to carry out the work so it’s disappointing to see reports of them being verbally abused.
“Thankfully the majority of motorists have been understanding and we appreciate their patience.”
