TWO men are due to appear in court in connection with an assault which left another man with serious injuries.
A reported altercation involving a group of people occurred at around 6.10am on Sunday, April 1 outside Boombox night club on The Esplanade.
According to police, the altercation continued as the group moved past the King’s Statue in Westham Road and during the incident two men were allegedly assaulted.
One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries but was subsequently released, and another man was treated for minor injuries.
A witness appeal was issued by Dorset Police following the reported assault.
A 22-year-old Portland man and a 25-year-old man from Weymouth have been issued with postal requisitions to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 17, for offences of affray and inflicting grievous bodily harm.
