Temporary road works on Portland - which caused disruption on Wednesday - are nearly complete.
Wessex Water carried out planned works to install a new connection in Fortuneswell this week.
Yesterday (13), the company confirmed that the main works are now over with a temporary road surface in place. It will work with Dorset County Council to scheduled the laying of a permanent surface in the new year.
On Wednesday, a traffic light failure at the roadworks site led to workers being verbally abused by some frustrated motorists.
A spokesman for Wessex Water said: "Our workforce are working as quickly as possible to carry out the work so it’s disappointing to see reports of them being verbally abused.
"Thankfully the majority of motorists have been understanding and we appreciate their patience."
