Firefighters from Wareham were called to a number of incidents overnight on Monday evening and into the following day.

The crew received its first call just after 6pm and was alerted to a fire in the area of Sugar Hill within Wareham Forest.

A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Upon arrival we could see three seats of fire spread over approximately 30metres however upon closer inspection it was clear this was a controlled burn due to the nature how it was laid out. Our officer in Charge decided no action was necessary and we returned to station.”

At 1.20am on Tuesday, the crew was called to a building fire on Lake Drive in Hamworthy near Poole.

A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival we were deployed to the back of the building were other crews were preparing to deploy breathing apparatus crews into the building. The fire was brought under control with the additional use of the aerial ladder platform, from there the incident was scaled down and we were released to go home.

The crew was then called to alarms sounding in a building near Wool train station at around 4am on Tuesday. However, no action was required from the fire service.
