WE'RE fully in the swing of panto season now and some of you will already have been to see Weymouth Pavilion's Dick Whittington.

If you haven't yet, there's still plenty of time as it continues until January 6.

It seems timely then to take a look back to the days when the Pavilion hired names from the world of television and music to star in the pantomime. You just might recognise some of these famous faces.

Particularly well known is Sean Wilson, Martin Platt from TV soap Coronation Street. Sean starred in Weymouth's 2006 panto Cinderella.

Another well known star who would have brought in a lot of devoted stars to the panto is Keith Duffy of Irish boy band Boyzone. Keith was in The Wizard of Oz in 2005. He has recently reunited with his Boyzone bandmates ahead of a farewell tour for the group next year.

We also have pictured here Danny Rogers, son of Ted Rogers of 3-2-1 fame, who appeared in a summer panto at Weymouth Pavilion and a Big Brother star from the early days, Paul 'Bubbles' Ferguson, who was also in The Wizard of Oz in 2005.

You might also recognise former Hollyoaks star Jennifer Biddall, who starred as Beauty in Beauty and the Beast in 2008, X Factor star Andy Abraham and, from Down Under, Lynne McGregor, Irene from Aussie Home and Away.

The biggest name of all though, who starred in Weymouth's Snow White panto in 2007 is Eliza Cotter-Taylor, at the time a little known Neighbours actor. Since then Eliza, now 29, has gone on to be one of US TV's biggest stars, with a lead role in post-apocalyptic drama series The 100.
