In an article in the Echo today, business rates are stated as £2,000 per month in Weymouth.
This is obviously ludicrous for any small business/shop and an example of why so many premises in Weymouth town centre are empty.
Try making £500 a week profit plus another few hundred just to pay staff etc and no wonder England has shops and businesses closing every day.
The uncontrollable greed of councils and their executive staffs make loan sharks look like Saints.
