A pub in Weymouth has raised £600 from sales of a special ‘lifeboat ale’ for their local lifeboat station
Brian McLaughlin is the landlord of the pub and he has yet again donated part of the profits from the sale of their ‘Lifeboat Ale’ to Weymouth lifeboat station.
This year the donation amounted to £600 and was presented to the coxswain of the lifeboat, Andy Sargent, by Red Lion staff Sarah Bodnick and Jay Warner-Jones just before Christmas.
Andy said: “We have to say a big thank you to all at the Red Lion for yet again raising money for the RNLI as they have for many years.
“The RNLI is a charity and relies on donations like this to enable us to carry on our work of saving lives at sea.”
Ms Bodnick said: “We are the lifeboat pub, being the pub nearest to the station and so for years the crew have been looked after here by the different land lords of the pub.
“It’s a great charity that we love to continue supporting and it’s an honour to be able to help them like this.”
