Tony Beales’ Power Balls

We know how hard it can be in January. The festive season is behind us, and temptation is still all around! It’s with this in mind that Tony Beales, managing director of multi award-winning event caterers Beales Gourmet at The Italian Villa, has had some fun and created these healthy snacking alternatives.

Not only are they delicious and incredibly easy to create at home, but they are also vegan and all natural. There are three tempting flavours for you to try and recreate!

Peanut Butter Power Ball

Makes 12 balls

• 1/3 cup coconut flakes

• 1 cup walnuts

• ½ cup whole almonds (blanched)

• 10 dates (stoned)

• 2 tbsp. smooth peanut butter

Method

Blitz all the ingredients together in a food processor.

Roll into balls and refrigerate for approximately 20 minutes until firm.

Keep for up to 1 week in an airtight container.

Tahini Power ball

Makes 12 balls

• 10 dates (stoned)

• 3 tbsp. of tahini paste

• ¼ cup rolled oats

• ¼ cup unsweetened coconut flakes

• Toasted sesame seeds to coats the balls

Method

Blitz all the ingredients together in a food processor.

Roll into balls and coat in the toasted sesame seeds.

Keep for up to 1 week in an airtight container.

Chocolate Power Ball (Vegan)

Makes 12 balls

• 1 cup sunflower seeds

• 10 dates (Stoned)

• 1 cup raisins

• ¼ cup cocoa powder

• 1 tbsps. coconut oil

• Desiccated coconut to coat the balls

Method

Blitz all the ingredients together in a food processor.

Roll into balls and coat in the desiccated coconut.

Keep for up to 1 week in an airtight container.
