A popular pub in Weymouth will shut its doors for four weeks while it undergoes a £365,000 makeover.
The Swan in St Thomas Street, a Wetherspoon pub, will be closing on Monday, January 14 for a refurbishment.
Jon Matthews, Wetherspoon’s development manager, said: “The pub is having a full refurbishment to the internal front of house and back of house areas.
“The works will include some opening windows to the front, new carpets to the trade areas and hard flooring around the bar. The bar refurbishment will include more produce dispensers, decorations, booth seating, an extra front of house coffee machine and water boiler. A pizza station will also be added to the kitchen while staff facilities will be added and upgraded.”
The pub is set to re-open on Friday, February 8.

Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “The Swan is an extremely popular pub and we are always keen to offer both our customers and staff the best facilities possible.
“We apologise to customers for the short closure of the pub but can guarantee that it will be even better than it is now once it reopens.”

It is part of a national tour he is undertaking, speaking to people about what he sees as the huge economic advantages of leaving the EU without a deal, and adopting a free trade approach.
