Two more arrests have been made in connection with a stabbing on Weymouth seafront.

Police were called to the incident near to the King's Statue on The Esplanade at around 10.45pm on Friday, November 16.

Officers said the victim, a man aged in his 30s, was involved in an "altercation" with a group of two men and a woman on The Esplanade and sustained a stab wound to his back.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 21-year-old Weymouth man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent the following day and was released under investigation.

Following enquiries by detectives, a 21-year-old man of no fixed abode and a 19-year-old Weymouth woman have now also been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.

The man has been released under investigation and the woman was charged with the offence and appeared before Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (9).

She will next appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, February 7.
