Police officers from Weymouth and Dorchester have seized cannabis and cannabis plants from a property in Dorchester.
According to a police statement the raid was carried out this morning.
Four plants and "a quantity" of the drug were initally reported to have been seized.
Police said a 46 year-old male is now helping them with enquiries.
A spokesman later confirmed: "Neighbourhood officers from Weymouth and Dorchester have this morning seized around £4.5k worth of cannabis from an address in Dorchester.
"One male has been arrested in relation to this incident."
Dorset Police are reminding the public to report suspicious circumstances by calling 101.
"We will act on information supplied by the community to prevent crime and safeguard the public", a spokesman said.
