A man who lost more than 20 stone has spoken to MPs about obesity.
Shaun Carrington weighed almost 34 stone at his heaviest and struggled with back and joint issues, skin infections and breathing difficulties.
His mother Karen convinced him to join Slimming World in February 2016 and Shaun - whho lives in Poole but is from Weymouth - has since lost more than 20st 12lbs, going from a clothes size XXXXXXXXL to a size L.
Last week, Shaun, 31, was invited as a special guest of Slimming World to its parliamentary reception, which aims to raise awareness of the help and support needed by people living with obesity.
The reception was hosted by Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE.
Andrew Selous MP, co-chair of the all party group on obesity and member of the health select committee, spoke at the event.
Shaun, who owns a camping and caravan shop, said: āI really hope that sharing my personal experiences will give them a better understanding of how overweight people feel and what a difference getting the right tools and support can be.
"I never could have dreamt that Iād be in this position when I first began my weight-loss journey.ā
In June, Shaun was named Slimming World's Greatest Loser 2018.
On Wednesday, January 2 he will launch his new slimming club at The Spire in Poole High Street. Sessions will run at 3pm, 5pm and 7pm.
