Hi, it’s Emily and William here, trying to make sense of Brexit.

As we write this, it’s a week to decision but we don’t really know what the politicians are voting for? For a start, we don’t fully understand the terms of what Teresa May has agreed, and although we hear a lot about it on the news, there are no easy read facts on what the impact will be if we stay or if we leave.

One thing we have heard is that if we leave, it will be difficult to take pets abroad with us. We are not sure if that is a good thing. We have also heard that food prices may go up a lot on some things, which is not good.

We have also heard that if Teresa May loses, we may have another referendum. We first thought that another vote was bad because we have already voted, and the public chose what they wanted. But then we thought again and now we have more information about the changes, people might vote differently?

If we did have another vote, we would definitely want all the facts in simple terms. Not jargon which politicians usually use, or lots of rubbish they spout on about. We want information in simple, everyday, easy read, bog standard, no nonsense English. Keep it simple and give us the unbiased facts, as otherwise people will probably end up voting the wrong way. We need more facts and accurate information.

We do think it’s getting a bit boring hearing about it over and over again in the news. After this column, we are not going to be talking about Brexit, at least until after March!
