MAGISTRATES have banned a 61-year-old Dorset man from owning a passport for five years as part of a sexual harm prevention order.
David Chadwick, alias Jack Hall, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court for a contested hearing earlier this month.
Despite his objections, the court has imposed an order for an indefinite period. It bans Chadwick, who lives in Weymouth, from travelling outside the UK for five years.
He must also seek permission before travelling to Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
In addition, Chadwick is banned from having an unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18, and must comply with a series of restrictions on his use of computers, including not using any device capable of accessing the internet unless it has the capacity to retain and display its history.
The defendant was ordered to surrender his passport, as well as all other documents permitting foreign travel, to police in Weymouth.
Chadwick was not accused of any specific offences.
