THE letter on January 13 suggesting Fordington was under threat from developers does not ring true.
The area is largely still as it was when built in Victorian times, when it was completed with full streets of houses.
Nor is it devoid of green spaces; it boasts the magnificent Salisbury Field and Kings Road recreation ground, and never forgetting our lovely Green.
So it cannot be described as without places to play and to enjoy outdoor activities.
There may still be a couple of brownfield sites which can be built on, and I hope a reasonable number of affordable dwellings can be included if and when they are developed.
My impression is that Fordington is a desirable community in which to live; it is friendly and there are plenty of people willing to help those needing support.
