A man died after emergency services responded to a concern for welfare incident in Maiden Newton.
Police were called to the scene by the ambulance service just after 1.30pm yesterday.
An air ambulance attended, but the man died at the scene.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: "We were called at 1.36pm on Saturday 19 January to reports of a concern for the welfare of a man aged in his 40s at an address in Maiden Newton.
"Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical staff, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"His death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been notified.
"The man’s family have been informed."
