Emergency services were called to Portland where a rock climber fell from a cliff.
The incident happened at Church Ope Cove this morning.
Police, paramedics and coastguards were sent to the area.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: Dorset Police was called at 10.21am today, Sunday, to reports that a rock climber had fallen from a cliff on Portland in the area of Church Ope Cove.
"Officers, Coastguard and ambulance personnel are at the scene dealing with the incident.
"The severity of the man’s injuries are not known at this stage."
In an update, police said the man had been airlifted to Southampton Hospital by the air ambulance.
