Police and coastguard crews were at Portland Bill dealing with a situation.
Police were called at 9.40am today to reports of a concern for welfare of a woman on cliffs at Pulpit Rock on Portland.
Officers were at the scene along with HM Coastguard rescue team and the ambulance service.
The Weymouth inshore lifeboat had also been called to the scene
Update: Police have confirmed that the woman has been taken to safety and will be given appropriate care. Police left the scene at 12.20pm.
