Weldmar Hospicecare’s Brightest Weekend is returning for 2019 and registration is now open for all ages to take part in the Colour Run or Bubble Rush.

To kick start the weekend, the Colour Obstacle Run will be returning on May 11 for the fifth year, where 1,500 people will scramble across ten inflatable obstacles. Participants will run along the course while brightly coloured paint is thrown at them.

Magicard, one of Weymouth’s largest employers, will be sponsoring the event again for 2019. Debbie Clark, Magicard’s HR Manager, said: “It’s a great way for people to get together and show their support for what is such an important locally-focused cause.

“As ever, our team members will be actively involved, both on the course and behind the scenes, and we look forward to seeing the results of everyone’s fundraising efforts!”

Day two sees the return of the extremely popular Bubble Rush which will be taking place on May 12. Participants will pass through various ‘bubble stations’ of brightly coloured foam which is quite a spectacular site especially seeing the joy on people’s faces.

Clair Walker, Event Manager, said: “The atmosphere and feedback from last year’s weekend was just phenomenal and we are pleased that this event is able to return in May. It’s a fantastic day out for the whole family and is a great way to kick off the summer.”

Weldmar are taking over the events area of the Lodmoor Country Park for the weekend and there will also be live music throughout the two days and delicious Dorset food and drink on sale.

Ms Walker said: “Every year we have people who would like to take part but haven’t registered in time, so we do recommend that you register early to avoid disappointment.

“You will be able to book at our special early-bird rate of £18 for adults and £11 for children if you book your place before February 15. This year we also have an early-bird family ticket available at £55 for the whole family.”

All money raised from the event will go towards vital funding for the continuation of the outstanding care, love and support that Weldmar provides to patients and their loved ones throughout Dorset.

Last year the event raised over £60,000 and this year it is hoped that even more can be raised thanks to the generosity of the participants and their sponsors.

Registration is now open for all ages so book now to avoid disappointment later, for more information or to register for the event visit www.weld-hospice.org.uk/register
