IT'S A case of early bird catches the worm - for anyone interested in a free beginners birdwatching course run by the RSPB.
Limited places are available on the popular three week course, being held in Weymouth during February and March.
Organisers recommend booking now to avoid disappointment.
RSPB Radipole visitor experience officer Dan Bartlett said the sessions are aimed at "complete novices" - participants will learn how to identify common species, where to find birds and how to use binoculars effectively.
"It’s a brilliant way to get out and about in nature, and get to know your local RSPB nature reserves and greenspaces", he commented.
"Here in Weymouth we are lucky to have two RSPB reserves within easy reach of the town centre.
"And there are many other green spaces, like the Fleet and Portland, all of which are fantastic bird watching sites.
“But if you struggle to tell your dunnock from your house sparrow, or your sparrow hawk from your kestrel – we’ve got the perfect free course to get you started."
Sessions are held on Tuesdays, 10am -12 noon.
During February dates will be 12, 19 and 26, and March 12, 19 and 26.
