A YOUTH club in Weymouth had a very successful launch night as its members celebrated the merge of two clubs into one.

The new Littlemoor Youth Club has been formed by merging the previous club operating out of the Littlemoor Youth and Community Centre with the Moor Voices Youth Club.

Louie O’Leary, chairman of the club, said: “The merger has been a long-term goal of ours and after long talks me and Cllr Mark Tewkesbury decided to make the decision after a meeting of both club committees.

“This has allowed us to share volunteers and resources to deliver a better standard of work. We also hope to be able to expand our Boxfit programme and add to our volunteer numbers so we can open on more nights.”

Cllr Mark Tewkesbury said: “The launch night of Littlemoor Youth Club after the successful merger this year was a great success with fun had by all.

“The club is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and we hope to continue going from strength to strength to help support the young people of Littlemoor.

The new Littlemoor Youth Club will be run from the Top Club community centre on Louviers Road in Weymouth.

The youth club is open on Mondays 7pm-9pm and Thursdays 6.30pm-8pm, with a Boxfit class running every Tuesday 6pm-7pm.
