Figures show the main council budget is expected to finish the financial year at the end of March almost £80,000 better than expected – while the harbour will be £45,000 worse than the anticipated figure when the budget was set.

General income has been helped by stay at home holidays which has increased car park income in Weymouth.

The council’s capital budget is also expected to be slightly better off – by £26,000 on a total budget of £5.5million.

Councillors on the borough management committee will be told at the February 5th meeting that designs have been produced for new seafront toilets with planning consents being sought soon; that works on the Greenhill loos will be completed by the end of March; the Esplanade lighting scheme should be finished by May and improvements to the Pavilion will be finished by the end of March.
