LAST year a good friend of mine fell off of the sea wall near the cove in Portland.
There is around a 10 foot drop onto a concrete ledge before you hit the pebbled beach.
There are no railings from the Cove House Inn all the way almost to Quiddles cafe
Safety rails are needed, in fact are essential.
It is only a matter of time before someone dies from injuries
Why does it take someone to be seriously injured or worse.
A child to fall off being excited as kids are, or someone frail that could be blown unsteady by the wind.
Due to weather the drop and beach has changed, it is even more of a drop.
I am writing this out of a genuine concern for my fellow human beings.
I have seen several very near misses.
Why is it an unreasonable request for the council to put up safety rails?
We pay so much council tax I ask you to think about this.
This is about safety nothing else.
