Police and coastguards searched for a vulnerable teenage boy who was reported missing last night.

Dorset Police, along with the Wyke and Portland Bill coastguard rescue teams, launched a search for the 16-year-old just after midnight today (5).

Weymouth RNLI also assisted with the search.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said they received the initial concern for welfare call at 11.30pm yesterday.

Two teams led by police searched a large coastal area between the Sailing Academy on Portland and Newtons Cove in Weymouth.

A coastguard helicopter was on its way to help with the search when the boy was found safe and well in the Weymouth area sometime after 2am.
