BEAMINSTER is likely to get a £70,000 grant from the district council going towards the cost of a new public loo.

The town council want to construct new toilets attached to Beaminster Public Hall which it would operate, allowing the existing district council run toilets to close.

District councillors will hear at a strategy committee meeting on Thursday (7/2) that the project is still at an early stage but is looking forward to May 2022 when the lease on the existing toilets has a break clause.

In 2017-18 the existing toilets cost £11,000 to run.

District councillors are being asked to agree the £70,000 grant to the town council.
