THE Swan in Weymouth will reopen its doors tomorrow following a £365,000 refurbishment.

The pub in St Thomas Street has been closed for almost a month.

It will be officially reopened at 12pm by Councillor Gill Taylor, Mayor of Weymouth and Portland.

The interior customer area has been completely redecorated, with new carpet installed throughout the pub, as well as new hard flooring around the bar area.

New booth seating has been added to the customer area and, at the front of the premises, new opening summer windows have been installed, as well as new signage.

The bar area has been refurbished, with extra self-service coffee machines also installed.

Behind the scenes, in the kitchen, pizza ovens have been installed, while extra staff facilities have been added and upgraded.

Kim Newstead, who has managed the pub since July 2000, said: “The Swan is an extremely popular community pub with both local people and visitors to Weymouth.

“We are looking forward to welcoming them to our fantastic new-look pub.”

Last month, founder of Wetherspoon Tim Martin visited The Swan ahead of its closure, to champion a no-deal Brexit. Read more here.
