Musical entertainment, comedy and a mesmerising tale will keep us all entertained this weekend.

  • Winter seems to have dragged on forever but comedian Angela Barnes is really trying to look on the bright side of life.

Her stand-up show, Rose Tinted, comes to Dorchester Corn Exchange tonight (8) at 8pm.

Since 2011, when Angela took the plunge and embarked on her life-long dream to become a comedian, her witty world view has been catapulted onto numerous radio and television shows including appearances on BBC One's Mock The Week, Love At The Apollo and BBC Radio 4's The News Quiz and the prestigious role as host of BBC Radio 4 Extra's Newsjack. The pantomime is directed by Jo Mackay and stars many well known local faces.

  • An outstanding musical production will bring to the stage the incredible and compelling story of the ‘king of rock and roll’ - Elvis Presley at Weymouth Pavilion tonight (8) at 7.30pm.

After six UK no. 1 singles, five UK no. 1 albums and 25 years together, the iconic Boyzone have released their final album Thank You & Goodnight and will perform all the greatest hits for fans at their BIC concert tomorrow evening.

  • A music event in response to the rise of the far right comes to Dorchester Corn Exchange tomorrow (9) evening from 7pm until late.

Among the acts due to perform are Antigua Joe, The Leggomen and Kipper. Tickets cost £6 and are available from Harmony Music, Reloved and the Tourist Information Centre in Dorchester.

  • A live show paying tribute to the legend that is Queen comes to Weymouth Pavilion tomorrow (9).

Queen Rhapsody is said to recreate the majesty of rock’s greatest ever band.

This tribute act will be performing hits from every decade of Queen’s musical legacy including We Will Rock You, Radio Ga Ga and Bohemian Rhapsody. This all new live spectacle faithfully recreates the energy, showmanship and emotion of a classic Queen concert.

  • Looking ahead to mid-week, Mike Denham’s first SpeakEasy Night of 2019 will be at Dorchester Corn Exchange on Wednesday, February 13.

This will be a special night, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mike’s band, Sunset Café Stompers, a seven-piece band containing some of the UK’s top vintage jazz musicians. Expect to hear numbers by Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller and Louis Armstrong.
